Copa Airlines has earned IOSA Registration from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The IATA Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA) is a standardized audit of airline operational safety management and control systems in such areas as corporate organization and management, flight operations, operational control/flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, aircraft ground handling, cargo operations and operational security.
Copa Airlines is among an exclusive group of global airlines that have satisfactorily completed the audit of quality, safety and operational performance, which guarantees compliance with the highest standards in the aviation industry worldwide. IOSA Registration will allow Copa to add codeshare flights with other world-class airlines and major alliances such as SkyTeam.
"At Copa Airlines we are very proud of being part of a select group of airlines that have qualified to obtain IATA Registration," said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines. "This achievement is due to the dedication and professionalism of our coworkers and reaffirms our vision and commitment to be the leading airline in Latin American aviation industry."
IATA, the largest trade association in the international aviation industry, brings together more than 270 public and private airlines from 140 nations. Its principal mission is to promote reliable and safe air service through the cooperation of its members. IOSA is one of the most recent tools created by the IATA for this purpose.
The IOSA Standards, which were developed by IATA specialists, other international associations, airlines, and governmental safety agencies in several countries, are continuously updated.
