CommPartners Completes Significant VoIP Network Expansion
Posted on: Monday, 8 August 2005, 12:00 CDT
CommPartners, an IP-based network operator and telephony services and solutions provider, today announced the expansion of its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network coverage area to include over 92% of the calling public in the domestic U.S., including Hawaii. With today's announcement, CommPartners will offer the broadest IP-based network coverage to deliver residential, SMB and enterprise hosted VoIP services with over 5,000 rate centers in the domestic U.S.
CommPartners, which provides wholesale VoIP services and applications to over 50 service providers in the U.S., said that its footprint is now comprised of its own IP network and extended coverage through partnership with other carriers.
"CommPartners is committed to the continued build-out and completion of our nationwide proprietary VoIP network and we are seeing steady progress in that effort," said Dave Clark, president and chief executive officer of CommPartners. "Meanwhile, our decision to partner with another carrier results from our desire to provide our wholesale customers with the broadest level of network coverage achievable at this time to meet their business objectives."
"We chose CommPartners because of the scale and unmatched quality of its telephony communications solutions and services. Through this partnership, we are able to provide our customers with substantial cost savings, ultimately enhancing customer loyalty," said Rick Stambaugh, president of The Fionda Group, a wholesale customer of CommPartners. "We are looking forward to the opportunities that will arise as a result of this expansion, as the larger network greatly enhances the ability to sell our branded VoIP solutions across the country."
The Fionda Group is a leading provider of technology tools and consumer communication solutions to the direct-selling and affinity-based industries and has launched its FonVantage broadband phone service for VoIP services to residential and business customers using the CommPartners network and solutions.
CommPartners has selected Level 3 Communications, Inc. as its underlying carrier in this latest expansion of its network. CommPartners has applied for and expects to obtain Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) status in all 50 states by next year, which will classify it as one of the sole largest networks of its type in the U.S. The company has architected its network for business-quality VoIP services, 911 emergency services capabilities and CALEA compliance--emerging issues that pose challenges to many VoIP service providers.
The CommPartners solution includes CommPartners Management System (CMS) proprietary OSS platform for automated provisioning, billing, user interface and back office support capabilities. Hosted features include simultaneous ring, voicemail-to-e-mail, feature activation via the web, and four digit dialing between offices. CommPartners provides VoIP facilitation services such as Subscriber Endpoint Control, Connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network ("PSTN"), Long Distance services, and Subscriber Management. Service providers can take advantage of all or any of these VoIP facilitation services, depending upon their existing network investments and VoIP requirements.
