Hula Networks Along with Friends & Family Bring a Brighter Day to the Less Fortunate Children and Elderly of Nicaragua

March 9, 2011

In the spirit of giving during the holidays and to help spread the word for a meaningful cause Hula Networks a California based telecommunications solutions provider sponsored a series of meaningful, charitable events that reflect the core values from which their business was founded. As part of Hula’s charitable mission, they provided over 250 Nicaragua people with basic necessities including a toothbrush, shampoo, soap, and more. “It may not seem like much to us living in America but, to them it was huge” stated Scott Hobin of Hula Networks.

Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) March 8, 2011

On January 8th, Hula Networks along with friends and family traveled to Nicaragua to host a series of charitable events for the impoverished elderly and children in the communities of Granada and El Transito.

Nicaragua is the second-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere just after Haiti. 48% of its citizens live below the poverty line – under $2 a day. 50% of Nicaraguan children are malnourished. Nicaragua faces many hardships and is often drastically affected by stormy weather and hurricanes.

The town of El Transito, a struggling fishing village, experienced significant destruction after the Earthquake and Tsunami of 1992. The people of the town are still working desperately to recover from the loss of more than 100 villagers and the destruction of homes and the town’s entire fishing infrastructure.

Granada, the oldest colonial city in Central America, is still working to overcome the devastation caused by earthquakes and a civil revolution that caused massive hardships from 1972 to 1990.

Hula Networks is a California based telecommunications solutions provider servicing carriers and large enterprise companies. Hula Networks is also dedicated to helping people and communities around the globe.

“Hula is passionate and knowledgeable about our business and our charitable endeavors reflect the same values” stated Scott Hobin.

In 2011, Hula Networks teamed up with family and friends that live in Nicaragua to handle the logistics and organization of their charitable Piñatas. There are thousands of families, children, and elderly throughout Nicaragua who are in desperate need of food, living necessities, and celebratory moments. Hula Networks, family, and friends are on a mission to help provide some of basic necessities to the elderly and youth of Nicaragua. Additionally they provided spirited celebrations for young children and their families to help build a strong sense of community.

Hula Networks charitable efforts in Nicaragua are particularly meaningful to Hula Networks due to the fact one of the three founders has family that still lives in the country. “Life is about giving” stated Hula Networks CFO, Scott Hobin “we want to give back for all the success Hula Networks has had over the years.”
