International CTIA Wireless 2011® to Display Products and Services Impacting Every Aspect of Mobile Life

More than 40,000 Attendees from 125 Countries to Visit 1,000 Exhibitors to Experience the Innovative and Competitive Wireless Ecosystem

WASHINGTON, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — At the International CTIA WIRELESS 2011® tradeshow and conference, more than 40,000 attendees from 125 countries will view products and services spanning every aspect of mobile life – from personal communications to mobile social commerce, wireless health, smart energy and transportation applications. Whether it’s through specialized industry and country pavilions or the keynote and conference sessions, CTIA Show attendees will have ample opportunity to learn about the fastest-growing areas of the wireless ecosystem. International CTIA WIRELESS 2011 will take place March 22-24 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Partner seminars begin Monday, March 21.

Exhibit Highlights

With more than 20 percent of the show’s attendees expected to come from the retail space, the Retail Zone will feature more than 200 exhibitors showcasing end-to-end retail solutions – from products and services geared toward making the retail ecosystem more profitable and efficient to accessories and sustainable products.

Apps World will serve as home base for the thousands of developers attending the show and will include the hottest new apps, opportunities for cross-platform exposure and resources for developers, carriers, manufacturers, app stores and buyers.

The Emerging Technology Zone will give attendees a glimpse into the future of mobility spanning vertical markets through dedicated pavilions for Cloud Computing, mCommerce, Safe Driving, the Telecom Council Innovation Showcase and Wireless Health. This area will also feature the Launch Pad, a special pavilion for start-up companies, and the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards showcase.

Keynotes

The keynote stage will provide a platform for global carriers and thought leaders to share new perspectives on the future of the wireless industry.

On Tuesday, March 22 at 9:00 a.m., the keynote stage will feature opening remarks from 2011 CTIA Chairman Dan Hesse, CEO of Sprint Nextel Corporation, an address from FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and a keynote roundtable of the CEOs of the four largest U.S. mobile carriers. Ralph de la Vega of AT&T, Dan Hesse of Sprint, Philipp Humm of T-Mobile and Dan Mead of Verizon Wireless will provide insight on mobile broadband futures and the impact of wireless data connectivity in a discussion moderated by CNBC personality Jim Cramer.

On Wednesday, March 23 at 9:00 a.m., Yang Jie, executive vice president for China Telecom, will provide a global perspective on the mobile industry from the world’s fastest-growing market. Sanjiv Ahuja, chairman and CEO of LightSquared, will share insights and predictions for the future of wireless data. Hans Vestberg, president and CEO of Ericsson, will discuss mobile’s unique role in shaping the “Networked Society.” Expanding on the transformative power of wireless, Vestberg will be joined by Patrick Soon-Shiong, M.D., chairman and CEO at the Institute for Advanced Health, who will demonstrate how wireless is reengineering the healthcare industry.

On Thursday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m., CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera will moderate a discussion with Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch; John Stanton, chairman of the board of Trilogy International Partners; and Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, on mobile technology’s role in organizing communities, shaping political decisions and stimulating economic development worldwide.

Executive Forum

CTIA’s revamped educational program – The Executive Forum – will feature 30 interactive sessions focused on high-growth sectors and timely issues shaping mobile innovation. Topics include: cloud computing; mobile payments; social networking; mobile search; marketing and advertising; mobile content; location-based services; devices and operating systems; wireless network infrastructure; and retail.

The Executive Forum will also highlight two afternoon “power panels” featuring dynamic, influential guest moderators and high-level panelists. Former Verizon Communications President and COO Denny Strigl will moderate a discussion with carrier chief technology execs on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. The Wall Street Journal Personal Technology Columnist Walt Mossberg will moderate a mobile CE panel of leading device manufacturers on Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.

USA TODAY columnist Ed Baig will announce the BIG Idea winners on Tuesday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m. On Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m., CNBC tech reporter Jon Fortt will announce the winners in the CTIA E-Tech Awards, highlighting mobile products and services in consumer electronics, mobile applications, luxury mobile, enterprise and vertical markets, green solutions and network infrastructure.
