The new models are available for sale immediately on the company’s website.
The Datacard SD260 features an LCD screen, built-in Ethernet and USB ports, TrueMatch printing technology, True Pick card handling and is Energystar qualified. In addition, the ribbon cartridge features a drop-in cleaning roller and the printer contains biodegradable supply cores, recyclable materials, and can be powered down for more environmentally responsible printing.

The printer utilizes dye sublimation and resin transfer printing methods at a resolution of 300 dpi, printing color ID cards in less than 20 seconds and black and white ID cards in less than 5 seconds. IDs are about the size of an average credit card and they can be paired with magnetic stripe encoding and other advanced features to enhance site security. Smart card personalization will also be available in the near future. For additional security, the printer also comes with optional Kensington lock compatibility.
