SSH to Demonstrate SSH Tectia on IBM Linux on Power Platform at LinuxWorld San Francisco

Posted on: Tuesday, 9 August 2005, 09:00 CDT

HELSINKI, Finland and SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SSH Communications Security Corp. , a world-leading provider of enterprise security solutions and end-to-end communications security, and the original developer of the Secure Shell protocol, today announced that it will publicly demonstrate new versions of its SSH Tectia(TM) solution for IBM eServer(TM).

SSH Tectia is the leading end-to-end communications security solution for the enterprise, and now supports Linux running on a wide range of IBM eServer platforms, including the zSeries(R), iSeries(TM), pSeries(R), OpenPower(TM), and BladeCenter(TM) JS20 servers.

The systems will be shown in the IBM pavilion at LinuxWorld beginning Aug. 8 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. SSH will demonstrate the SSH Tectia client/server solution for IBM Linux on POWER systems.

"With over 90 percent of enterprise data stored on large mainframe-class servers, these systems become islands of vulnerability," said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc. "For this reason, SSH is committed to offering the most robust end-to-end security for IBM eServer systems. In collaboration with IBM, we have been able to port SSH Tectia throughout the IBM eServer product line in record time."

The SSH Tectia port to IBM eServer systems came as a result of participation by SSH, an IBM Business Partner, in a pilot program for the IBM eServer Application Advantage(TM) for Linux (Chiphopper). SSH Tectia is also supported on AIX for pSeries, Windows for xSeries and z/OS for zSeries. It is also the industry's first enterprise security solution to fully integrate the well-established Secure Shell protocol for IBM mainframes, and run natively on IBM z/OS(R).

SSH Tectia now provides a broad base of IBM system users with robust, comprehensive enterprise security, including secure system administration, secure application connectivity, and secure file transfer functionality.
