DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2003--
Cell Phone Management Software Now Includes Multimedia Center,
Wizard-based Sync Capabilities and Digital Rights Management
As cellular phones and other mobile devices continue to improve dramatically in nearly every category of computing power, BVRP Software (Booth # 1214) today announced a major new release of its powerful Mobile PhoneTools software for Windows.
Mobile PhoneTools installs on a desktop or laptop computer and allows users to manage contact information, appointments, ringtones, wallpapers and all of the other data more and more frequently used on mobile devices. Managing this data on a computer is particularly useful when switching phones, as it eliminates the time-consuming and frustrating process of entering phone numbers and other address book data manually.
In response to the skyrocketing popularity of camera phones and high-end smart phones, BVRP has given Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 a Multimedia Center to manage picture files used for wallpaper; create, import or edit audio files for ringtones (WAV, .mp3 and MIDI formats); and create and send MMS (multimedia messaging service) and SMS messages with the more user-friendly computer keyboard and monitor, rather than a phone. Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 has also been improved by the addition of simple and intuitive Wizard-based syncing, as well as increased Bluetooth connectivity, both of which make moving data and files between a mobile phone and laptop quick and easy. Mobile PhoneTools also supports infrared and cable (RS232 and USB) mobile phone to laptop connections.
Mobile PhoneTools also enables any cellular phone or Web-enabled mobile device to function as a modem for users' laptops, ensuring "anywhere access" to the Internet through their laptop for anyone with a cellular phone.
"As mobile devices morph from dedicated voice terminals into handheld computers, connecting them to other computing devices increases the power and capabilities of each," states David Wright, BVRP vice president of OEM operations. "At the same time, cellular networks are accelerating to data speeds that make true Internet surfing possible. Mobile PhoneTools helps you manage the information on your cell phone, and it also opens up laptops to anywhere, any time Internet access using cellular networks."
Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 now supports CDMA cellular networks, in addition to its existing support for GSM/GPRS networks, providing complete coverage across all of the cellular networks in use today. It is compatible with next-generation 3G-UMTS networks, as well, ensuring continued compatibility even as network and phone capabilities expand in the years to come.
Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 now also includes support for digital rights management (DRM) technology. Mobile PhoneTools supports software from the Open Mobile Alliance and other standards groups creating mobile DRM specifications. Developed for and tested on all versions of the Windows OS, including 98 SE, ME, 2000, NT 4.0 and XP, Mobile PhoneTools supports MS Outlook, Outlook Express, Exchange Server and Lotus Notes for all contact, calendar and task events and also includes its own contact, calendar and tasks application.
Mobile PhoneTools supports 17 languages including Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 is now available to end users for $59.99 at http://www.bvrpusa.com, and in an OEM version. For further information on OEM sales, please contact David Wright at dwright@bvrpusa.com.
