PatientNOW’s Medical Records Studio 6.0 EMR Software Receives ONC-ATCB Certification by Drummond Group
PatientNOW’s innovative Medical Records Studio 6.0 EMR software has received the federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by meeting the current certification criteria adopted by the Secretary at 45 CFR 170 subpart C.
Englewood, CO (PRWEB) April 10, 2011
This certification officially deems PatientNOW electronic medical record software capable of enabling healthcare providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Medical Records 6.0 was tested and certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records ONC-ATB program, which means that PatientNOW EHR software is compliant with the latest criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
This certification validates PatientNOW as software that can help healthcare providers participate in the widespread movement toward electronic health records. Providers will now be able to leverage PatientNOW software to make significant improvements in patient care while also meeting the meaningful use standards that allow them to qualify for incentive funds under ARRA.
“We are proud to offer providers the opportunity to truly improve care in their communities,” says Jerry Jacobson, President and Cofounder of PatientNOW.
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program by the Drummond Group tests and certifies EHR software to determine if it can meet the meaningful use criteria for eligible healthcare providers and hospital technology. Once the software is certified, healthcare providers using that system are qualified to receive federal stimulus money when they demonstrate meaningful use of the EHR. The program is an important part of the government incentives to improve healthcare through effective use of electronic medical records.
Medical Records 6.0, which met the requirements for certification, is EHR software that includes features such as document management, patient demographics, clinical data points, prescriptions writing, lab orders, photo media, inventory, online patient registration, point of sale and more. Features in the Medical Records Studio package were created with plastic surgeons in mind. The software allows plastic surgeons to create specific EHR templates for common surgical and non-surgical procedures. Forms can be completed in your exam room using a laptop or tablet PC and all data goes directly into PatientNOW, eliminating the need for paper forms during or after the consultation.
“The need to leverage information technology in the healthcare industry is huge ““ as the quality of care and efficiency benefits that come with computerization can really make a difference in the overall patient experience. We’re ready to help transform the industry by providing the sophisticated software testing services that ensure that vendors and hospitals are offering systems that are capable of meeting the meaningful use standards required to obtain incentive funds as well as the rich functionality required to move the clinical care needle forward,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and are ready to leverage our extensive experience handling sophisticated systems in complex industries as well as dealing with complicated technical issues such as interoperability and security.”
This PatientNOW Medical Records Studio 6.0 is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by Drummond Group, an ONC-ATCB approved to certify any complete or modular EHR both ambulatory and inpatient, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. Vendor name, Date Certified, Product Version, Certification ID number, Clinical Quality Measures Certified, any additional software relied upon to certify, where applicable the certification criteria to which each EHR modules has been tested and certified.
