Using new Lin a-pro 4 for iPhone, LightSpeed Mobile users can exploit
mobile point of sale system while at trade shows, conferences, pop-up
locations

MONTREAL, April 13 /PRNewswire/ – Xsilva Systems, makers of unified retail Point of Sale tools sold under the LightSpeed
brand, today announced upgrades to the hardware kit for its mobile
Point of Sale platform, LightSpeed Mobile. Beginning today, LightSpeed
Mobile Hardware Kits will ship with Lin a-pro 4 for iPod touch 4th
Generation or Lin a-pro 4 for iPhone 4 from Infinite Peripherals, Inc.

LightSpeed Mobile is the mobile retail extension to the LightSpeed Point
of Sale system for Mac that transforms the way retailers sell to their
customers. The application, when paired with a hardware kit that
consists of a supported iOS mobile device and a sled that adds a 1D
barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader, offers retailers an
affordable alternative to traditional retail systems and long,
impersonal line-ups at the register.

Retailers using LightSpeed Mobile can now use either the
fourth-generation iPod touch or the iPhone 4 as their hardware of
choice. The first generation of the Lin a-pro sled, the same hardware
used in Apple’s retail stores, was compatible only with the second and
third generations of the iPod touch. The Linea Pro 4 compatibility with
the iPhone 4 represents a whole new opportunity for users of LightSpeed
Mobile – mobile Point of Sale beyond the store.

“Many retailers participate in trade shows or conferences, or operate
temporary pop-up locations, where it can be challenging to manage
inventory, process transactions and accurately document activity that
takes place at these one-off events within the context of overall sales
and inventory,” said Dax Dasilva, CEO and founder of Xsilva Systems. “With the iPhone 4 option, LightSpeed Mobile users
can truly exploit the mobile aspect of the platform, completing
transactions on the handheld unit from anywhere – even outside the
store.”

“LightSpeed Mobile is a terrific example of the integration our hardware
has with third-party software applications that manage inventory,
complete sales transactions and other business processes,” said Jeffrey Scott, CEO of Infinite Peripherals. “We’re excited to see how LightSpeed Mobile
users respond to the ability to take their point of sale system on the
road.”

Xsilva continues to build on the capabilities of its award-winning
mobile point of sale platform, offering compelling features at a
fraction of the cost that big box stores are spending on custom
development. Earlier this month, at its recent Certification Camp in
San Francisco, the company announced LightSpeed Mobile 1.4, which added a mobile printing capability. The recent addition of a
unique hand-off feature makes LightSpeed the most unified retail Point
of Sale experience across the desktop and mobile environments. While
credit-card transactions can be fully completed on the mobile device,
cash, check and other transactions started anywhere in the store on a
mobile device can be seamlessly transferred to a desktop POS station
equipped with a cash drawer for completion.

Version 1.4 of LightSpeed Mobile is available for $4.99 from the iTunes
App Store and requires LightSpeed Server.
