Texas Instruments makes designing with TMS320C5000(TM) DSPs easier with new credit-card-sized development tools

DALLAS, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) announced the availability of new credit-card-sized, low-cost TMDX5502EZDSP and TMDX5509EZDSP development tools, making TMS320C5000(TM) digital signal processor (DSP) development easy and accessible for developers, hobbyists, researchers and students. The eZdsp(TM) development tools for C5502 and C5509A DSPs do not require any cables, allowing developers to simply plug the tool into the USB port of a laptop or workstation for hassle-free development and a simple out-of-the-box experience.

The eZdsp development tools feature up to 300 MHz of performance for the C5502 and 200 MHz for the C5509A. Containing a broad mix of interfacing options, these feature-packed eZdsp USB development tools are ideal for applications such as voice, audio, musical instruments and accessories, medical monitoring and fingerprint biometrics. To support rapid and easy development, both tools include a comprehensive suite of support software and sample code examples.
