Sofradir EC, Inc. will be demonstrating their new IRE-320VL Infrared Imaging Engine at the SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing Symposium in Orlando, FL, on April 26-28, 2011. Based on a cryogenically cooled MCT infrared detector, the IRE-320VL exhibits very high performance infrared imaging for long-wave infrared (LWIR) spectral range 7.7-11.5 Þ¼m. (Optionally, a model is available for the 7.7-9.5µm spectral band). Because of its versatility, the IRE-320VL engine is ideal for easy integration into a wide range of electro-optical systems, delivering exceptional sensitivity and spectral performance.
The IRE-320VL harnesses the full performance of the Sofradir Mars VLW, a Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) cryogenically cooled infrared detector while offering unique flexibility to meet the needs of any application or OEM requirement. Full frame rate is adjustable from 1 to 320 Hz and the integration time can be controlled for 480ns to 20ms (independently). The camera permits detector sub-windowing down to a 64×1 size and up to 14kHz. The engine electronics include camera control electronics and a cooler controller board. Connectivity and interface logic are industry standards with NTSC/PAL video or 14-bit digital data for either uncorrected or corrected configuration modes. Camera communication occurs through a serial (RS-232) interface. 14-bit digital data can be streamed via LVDS or through optional Camera Link and/or Gigabit Ethernet. An IRIG time stamp capability is available as an option. Optional optical mounts, optics, user interface panels, and housings are available permitting camera customization to meet any requirement. In addition, Sofradir EC is also offering a variety of software developer toolkits (SDKs) and command software modules for further flexibility.
