CenterBoard Announces Executive Management Team

PLEASANTON, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 11, 2003–CenterBoard, poised to be a leader in the emerging market for Enterprise Information Integration (EII), today announced its executive management team. These industry veterans have solid expertise garnered from both the database and networking worlds. As early employees of other successful startups, including Red Brick Systems, Cloudscape, CopperCom, Auspex and Portal, the management team has a depth of experience in growing early-stage companies to become market leaders.

Thomas Henn is CEO, president, co-founder, and a member of the board of directors. He brings more than 24 years of experience turning early-stage companies into successful industry leaders and has a diversified background that includes technology development, sales, marketing, and customer support. “CenterBoard is a dynamic and innovative new company with a compelling solution for accessing information — no matter where or how it’s stored. Thomas Henn — President and CEO, Founder

Previously, Henn was president and CEO of Cloudscape, which developed a groundbreaking synchronization tool that enabled the deployment of portable lightweight applications. There, he raised funding, set company direction, and orchestrated a merger with Informix. At data warehouse pioneer Red Brick Systems, he was responsible for sales, sales support, channels, field marketing, professional services, and training — ultimately delivering 10 consecutive quarters of profitability and an IPO. Henn was also an executive-in-residence at Crosspoint Venture Partners, and held executive management positions with Knowledgeware Inc., Digital Equipment Corp., and Burroughs Corp. Henn has a B.S. in Finance from Northern Illinois University.

Glen Livingston — Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Service,

Founder

In charge of CenterBoard’s sales and customer and partner relationships, Glen Livingston’s extensive sales experience includes more than 17 years in enterprise software, and management of sales forces targeting the Fortune 500. Responsibilities at early-stage companies included the establishment of worldwide field readiness for sales, professional services, and customer support and training. As vice president of worldwide sales operations at Versata, Livingston increased sales from $12 million to $58 million in one year. He was vice president of sales and service at Cloudscape, managing worldwide sales, business development, and customer support. As vice president of worldwide sales operations at Red Brick Systems, Livingston drove sales from $0 to $43 million, and built international and channel sales departments that accounted for over 30% of revenue. Livingston holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. He is co-author of Planning and Designing the Data Warehouse, Prentice Hall 1997.

Michael Moody — Vice President, Engineering

Heading up CenterBoard’s engineering development, quality assurance and operations, Michael Moody has built a career around managing complex engineering teams and delivering quality products on time. He brings with him more than 24 years of experience in the software engineering field. Moody was vice president of engineering operations at Portal Software, responsible for all the company’s mainstream product and feature releases, overseeing performance engineering/benchmarking, program management, release engineering, quality assurance, documentation, and custom engineering for strategic accounts. He was senior director for value-added software at Auspex Systems where he directed 45 software engineers in the development of Java-based system management tools. Moody has held management positions at Wyse Technology, General Electric and Singer-Link. He has published papers on a number of technology subjects including real-time graphics systems for driver simulation, Intel CPU performance, and multiprocessing technology. Moody holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.S. in Combined Science from the University of Santa Clara.

Julio C. Navas, Ph.D. — Chief Technology Officer, Founder

Recognized by the network community as the inventor of geographic routing, Dr. Navas is the principal architect of the CenterBoard technology and has seven full patents pending. He began the development of the CenterBoard technology at the Siemens Technology-To-Business Center, leading the “Network as Database” project and successfully spinning out the technology into CenterBoard. At Rutgers University, Dr. Navas researched, designed, and implemented geographical routing across IP internetworks, technology that is now integrated into military network systems. Other research background includes location-dependent Web information retrieval; multicast-enabled distributed Web querying and advertisement; and real-time multimedia servers. Dr. Navas has published papers in the Communications of the ACM, Proceedings of Mobicom 97, and in IETF publications. Other experience includes positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Corporate Computer Systems. Navas has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a B.S. in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University.

Jennifer Nance Stagnaro — Chief Marketing Officer

As head of marketing for CenterBoard, Jennifer Stagnaro is continuing a track record of taking technology companies from seed stage to post IPO, defining new categories and establishing market leaders in the process. Her years of experience encompass strategic marketing, product management, investor relations, and technical sales support. As chief marketing officer of CopperCom, Stagnaro orchestrated the creation of the Voice-over-DSL market, positioned CopperCom as leader of that market, and helped build the business from zero to more than $50 million. As director of worldwide marketing at Madge Networks, she implemented and led strategic investor relations that took Madge through an IPO and two acquisitions. As a founding member of Red Brick Systems’ marketing team, Stagnaro developed marketing strategy that created the data warehouse category and positioned Red Brick as this new market’s leader. Other experience includes product management and technical positions at Oracle, Information Resources, and Procter & Gamble. Stagnaro also founded Stagnaro Strategic Marketing, which developed marketing strategies for early-stage ventures. Stagnaro holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard University.
