EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Sciences Corporation announced today that its Global Transformation Solutions (GTS) group has received the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Software Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 rating.
The SEI is a research and development center chartered to improve software engineering practices. CMMI ratings are awarded after an exhaustive appraisal is conducted involving analysis and review of software development capabilities, processes and products. The ratings assist buyers in determining reliable and low-risk suppliers of software products and services.
"A standard CMMI appraisal for process improvement usually evaluates three to five projects at one location; this appraisal included 11 project evaluations spanning Europe, the United States, Canada and India," said Mary Jo Morris, president of CSC's GTS organization. "While CSC has several Level 3 and 5 ratings in various units of the company, this particular appraisal underscores a global capacity. Our experience in providing high- quality, low-cost applications services enables us to deliver the results our clients seek, and I'm pleased to see our success acknowledged by this rating."
CSC's GTS organization supports more than 100 applications outsourcing accounts and employs more than 14,200 information technology (IT) professionals who provide applications development and support. This evaluation is one of the largest global appraisals ever conducted to determine a maturity level against the SEI CMMI rating system.
