MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The Russian government decided on Thursday that the Federal Service for Preservation of Cultural Values would now be responsible for granting permissions for the release of foreign print media in Russia.
The Mass Media Ministry was responsible for the permissions in the past, Deputy Minister of Culture and Mass Media Leonid Nadirov told the government on Thursday. He said that the ministry granted 650 permissions in the past five years.
"Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States have applied for the permission," Nadirov said.
