St. Johns Man Fatally Shot in Argument, Police Say The Sheriff’s Office Says It Has Interviewed but Not Arrested the Man Who Fired the Gun.
One man was killed Sunday when a gun was pulled in an argument between two St. Johns County roommates just west of the St. Augustine city limits.
“We have the individual who fired the weapon, but he is not currently under arrest,” said Sgt. Chuck Mulligan of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.
Mulligan said detectives were interviewing the man and other witnesses to the shooting, which happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Schaller Road off Florida 16.
He said several people were at the house when the two men argued. The victim’s family had not been notified late Sunday, and information about the other man’s identity was not available.
The victim, who was 45, died at the scene, Mulligan said.

A pedestrian was killed Sunday on Sunbeam Road in Jacksonville after being hit by a car that also plowed into a concrete power pole about 6:30 p.m., police said.
Sgt. Jesse York said the male driver of the Toyota MR2 was taken to Shands Jacksonville with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He said information about the woman who was killed was not available.
York said the car was westbound in the 4900 block of Sunbeam Road when the driver left the road for an unknown reason, hitting the pedestrian and the pole.

A Clay County man was killed early Sunday after he failed to negotiate a curve on County Road 352 about a mile east of Florida 21 northeast of Keystone Heights.
Christopher Alan Payton of Keystone Heights, whose age was unavailable, died at the scene of the accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Payton was driving east about 1 a.m. when he missed the curve, overcorrected and ran into a yard and hit an oak tree, according to a Highway Patrol report.
The report said the cab and windshield of Payton’s pickup truck jammed beneath a large branch. Information about whether he was wearing a seat belt was unavailable.
Dana TreenFOUL PLAY SUSPECTED IN DEATH
Foul play is suspected in the death of a Jacksonville man whose name was released Sunday, police said.
Joshua Kyle Allen, 28, of the 13800 block of Sutton Park Drive was found in his apartment after 8 a.m. Saturday by his girlfriend, said Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman Rick Wood.
Wood said a cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Police didn’t release other details.
Dana TreenGIRL EJECTED FROM VAN DIES
A 5-year-old Pompano Beach girl was killed early Sunday when she was run over after being ejected from a van on Interstate 75 a mile south of Lake City.
Tatyana P. Allen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the 2005 Ford van after a blown tire sent it across three northbound lanes to the center median guardrail around midnight. The van overturned, ejecting her and another passenger.
Tatyana landed in the outside northbound lane of the highway and was hit by a Chevy van driven by Gary W. Miller, 53, of Alachua, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Miller was wearing a seat belt. The second ejected passenger was not seriously injured, authorities said.
The Highway Patrol said the Ford’s driver, Gary R. Bolt, 20, was wearing a seat belt. He and other passengers suffered minor injuries. There were 11 people in the Ford van, investigators said. They were taken to Lake City Medical Center, according to the Highway Patrol.
Dana TreenTHIRD ARRESTED IN FUNERAL THEFTS
Jacksonville police have arrested a third suspect in connection with about 83 robberies that have taken place at funerals since May.
Charles Taylor Mills, 27, of the 2800 block of Green Street, was arrested early Saturday and charged with felony burglary. He is being held in lieu of $200,003 bail.
Driver’s licenses, credit cards, jewelry and checkbooks have been stolen from vehicles of people attending funerals, according to police reports.
Jerald L. Tubbs, 28, and Samemsha A. Robinson, 18, were also arrested last week on charges related to the funeral robberies and were being held at the Duval County jail.
