China's English Int'l channel airs in NZ
WELLINGTON, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- China's English International channel, CCTV-9, started transmitting via New Zealand Sky TV network on Friday.
In the launching ceremony, Wang Taihua, head of the Chinese State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, said the carriage of CCTV-9 by New Zealand TV network will no doubt offer an opportunity for local viewers to gain a better understanding of China and Chinese culture.
CCTV-9, the English international channel of CCTV, provides English-speaking viewers in China and around the world with a wide array of news and current affairs programs 24 hours a day. The channel also offers a variety of feature and entertainment programs with insights into China's politics, economy, history, culture, customs and other social aspects.
