Winternals Software(R), a leading provider of Microsoft systems recovery and data protection solutions, announced that Defrag Manager 4.0, the company's enterprise defragmentation solution, has achieved certification for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. Certification was conducted by VeriTest, the testing division of Lionbridge Technologies (Nasdaq:LIOX), and the only authorized worldwide lab to test enterprise applications for Microsoft's "Certified for Windows" program.
The "Certified for Windows Server 2003" certification is based on an established technical standard to verify that business-critical applications are secure, manageable, and reliable on Microsoft Windows 2003. This certification, combined with Defrag Manager 4.0's status as the only defragmentation solution that is 100% compliant with native Windows file system APIs in all modes of operation, confirms the safety and stability of the product for the Windows enterprise.
"Windows Server 2003 certification was developed by Microsoft as the industry standard for identifying applications that deliver the highest levels of manageability, reliability, and security," said Katrina Teague, Vice President Marketing and Solutions, VeriTest. "By meeting Microsoft's rigorous certification requirements, Winternals has demonstrated a commitment to its customers to deliver a highly reliable defragmentation solution for the Windows enterprise environment."
Defrag Manager is an enterprise defragmentation solution that runs on Windows systems throughout the network from a single console, without requiring any client installs or continuously running services. Defrag Manager 4.0 simplifies the task of setting up, managing, and maintaining defragmentation schedules by integrating with Microsoft Operations Manager 2005, leveraging existing Active Directory implementations, and supporting Windows x64-compatible systems.
"Achieving Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certification for Defrag Manager 4.0 confirms Winternals' commitment to helping our customers realize the greatest potential return on their Microsoft infrastructure investment," said Edwin Brasch, President and CEO of Winternals Software. "Completing this rigorous certification process validates Winternals' ability to deliver the robust, scalable Windows defragmentation solutions required for enterprise deployments."
The full certification results can be viewed on the VeriTest website.
