Aviation Week Contrails Launched As New E-Zine for Aviation Enthusiasts to Capture Personal Experiences of Flight

Posted on: Monday, 15 August 2005, 09:00 CDT

NEW YORK, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviation Week Group has launched a new electronic magazine that showcases gripping, personal flying tales as told by aviators across the flying spectrum -- astronauts, military and civil pilots, combat aircrews, air traffic controllers, mechanics and aircraft designers. Aviation Week Contrails is a bi-monthly collection of primarily untold aviation and aerospace stories, plus anecdotes, photos, quips, cartoons, quizzes and reunion notices that connect aerospace enthusiasts with the excitement, fear, anguish and magic of flight.

The e-zine is an outgrowth of "Contrails," an extremely popular feature that appears monthly in Aviation Week & Space Technology. Now in its third year, the Contrails section captures unique experiences ranging from combat missions to crop-dusting.

"Contrails e-zine brings to life personal aerospace stories of heroism and danger, fear and anxiety, excitement and grandeur, quietness and magic," said Kenneth E. Gazzola, Aviation Week Group Executive Vice President/Publisher. "Some are exciting, while others are poignant and touching. But they all share a common element: They are true accounts, as told by Contrails readers.

"Contrails has been created for those who love any aspect of flight," added Gazzola. "We want to be sure amazing, individual tales of flight are not lost forever but have a place to be shared, enjoyed, and even learned from by future generations."

Contrails is located at http://www.contrailsmagazine.com/. Subscriptions are $19.95 a year, and the first three issues are free.
