Cirque’s GlideTouch® Meets Latest PCI PTS 3.0 Standards
Cirque’s input solutions for the payment industry continue to lead by meeting the latest security requirements set by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) August 08, 2011
Cirque’s GlideTouch input solutions have been found by an independent test lab to meet the latest security standards for PIN Entry Devices (PCI PTS 3.0). GlideTouch provides capacitive touch input for payment terminal touch screens and keypads. Both finger input and fine-tipped stylus are supported. By meeting the latest PCI PTS standards, GlideTouch continues its role as the industry standard capacitive input technology for payment applications.
The unique, patent protected SecureSense̢Ң methods used by GlideTouch allow PIN Entry Device (PED) manufacturers to safely utilize a touch screen in their PED design. Attackers attempting to connect bugs to a GlideTouch sensor or electrodes will not be able to obtain any usable data. In addition, tamper attempts can be detected and reported to the host device. Overlays above the GlideTouch sensor will also render the system non-functional.
In addition to these security features, GlideTouch solutions provide many other advantages for payment and security applications. GlideTouch sensors can be constructed using optically-clear, thick, vandal-resistant glass, up to 6mm thick. The projected capacitive sensing system is below the cover glass layer, making it immune to scratches and cleaning chemicals. The GlideTouch fine-tipped stylus system offers best-in-class sample rate for forensic quality signature capture. In addition, GlideTouch can perfectly distinguish between a finger and the stylus, allowing for perfect rejection of a resting hand on the panel without affecting the input quality or sample rate.
