Plagiarism Detection Efforts Streamlined Within the College Admissions Process
CINCINNATI, and OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hobsons, the leader in Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) software, and iParadigms, the leading provider of plagiarism prevention solutions, today announced that Turnitinî for Admissions is now fully integrated within Hobsons' ApplyYourself. In 2010, more than 550 admission offices used Hobsons' ApplyYourself to process applications. This fall, admission offices at undergraduate and graduate schools can verify applicant essays to discover potential plagiarism and help them make better decisions in the application review process.
"In these tough economic times, every decision is based on the ROI (return on investment) of the decision," said Jeff Lorton at Turnitin for Admissions. "With ApplyYourself and Turnitin for Admissions integrated, clients will see higher success rates in their undergraduate and graduate programs. When the decision to admit applicants includes verified essays, admitted applicants are likely to be more successful and graduate."
ApplyYourself, an online application process management tool, includes a range of components to shepherd students through the college admission process. The integration of applicant data with existing prospect systems offers campuses a centralized system to drive enrollment. ApplyYourself gathers and compiles this information through online tools including application forms, scheduling modules for campus events and interviews, recommendation forms and decision management tools.
Turnitin for Admissions compares submitted documents to an extensive database of Internet content, student and applicant essays, subscription content, and other documents to create a comprehensive Similarity Report. The Similarity Report allows admissions offices to: verify and identify problems in seconds; deal with the problems discovered efficiently; admit fewer problem applicants; and make fair decisions based on verified information.
