Broadcast International Engages National Sales Organization to Create Sales Channel for Interact Videoconferencing Product Line

Posted on: Tuesday, 16 August 2005, 06:00 CDT

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Broadcast International (BULLETIN BOARD: BCST) today announced it has signed an agreement with Rep360, a manufacturer's representative organization based in San Clemente, CA. The firm, which helps build relationships between technology manufacturers and the AV consulting community, design firms and system integrators across the United States, will be responsible for developing a sales channel for Broadcast International's Interact(TM) IP videoconferencing system.

The Interact system, powered by Broadcast International's innovative CodecSys(TM) technology, offers a significant improvement in video quality at lower bandwidths. The system sells for less than half the price of comparable competitive systems, although it provides superior performance, making videoconferencing a solution any business -- regardless of its size -- can consider.

"We look forward to developing a robust sales channel for the Interact system with the help of Rep360," said Rod Tiede, President and CEO of Broadcast International. "We are confident that the combination of the Interact system's high performance, powered by CodecSys, and Rep 360's track record of excellent channel development will result in a very dynamic sales channel program."

Rep360 brings 25 years of channel development experience to the partnership with Broadcast International. The company has successfully launched hundreds of products for top corporate technology firms and provides sales and technical training, marketing, support and distribution-related services for top AV manufacturers.

"Videoconferencing has traditionally been reserved for those who can afford it and those who can overcome the technical challenges involved in videoconferencing networks," said Angelo Skiparnias, Rep360 CEO. "Broadcast International has taken the last mile challenges out of the network side of the equation and allowed anyone who can afford a PC the opportunity to make point-to-point and multi-point video calls. We expect to see the rapid adoption of this product both in traditional AV integration channels, as well as new network integration channels, and we look forward to being a part of that process."

Broadcast International and Rep360 expect that more than 100 dealers will be part of the Interact system sales channel by the end of 2005.
