Sandvine Chooses Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switches for Broadband Network Equipment Testing

Glimmerglass, a pioneer of automated fiber management, announced today that Sandvine Inc. will use a Glimmerglass intelligent optical switch for its advanced broadband network optimization product testing operations.
As networks become more complex due to changing standards and the emergence of new broadband applications, testing requirements are also growing more laborious and expensive. Glimmerglass products automate much of the testing process by enabling test engineers to instantly change or "re-fiber" a network, virtually eliminating the need for manual fiber connection. In this way, different network configurations can be quickly simulated, saved and then tested quickly and repeatedly. Test schedules are dramatically shortened and errors and wear on equipment is reduced.
Sandvine, a global leader in intelligent broadband network management, purchased a Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switch configured with 288 fiber interfaces to help automatically manage fiber connectivity and speed time-to-market for new product introductions.
