Verari Systems Launches 4-Way Intel(R)-Based Server Platform; New Verari Systems RM4205 4U Server Shows Further Commitment to Intel(R) Enterprise Server Acceleration Alliance
Posted on: Tuesday, 16 August 2005, 09:00 CDT
Verari Systems(TM), the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade server and rack-optimized systems, announced today the introduction of the RM4205. The RM4205 rackmount server is a powerful system based on the Intel(R) Server Platforms SR4850HW4 and/or SR6850HW4. The addition of the RM4205 into Verari Systems' robust product offering extends its commitment to the Intel(R) Enterprise Server Acceleration Alliance (Intel ESAA).
Supporting up to four Intel(R) Xeon(TM) processors MP with future support for dual-core processors, the RM4205 features platform technologies such as Memory RAID, RAID On Motherboard and Fiber Channel module solutions. The Intel(R) Server Platforms SR4850HW4 and SR6850HW4 provide the computing power and RAS features required by server consolidation, mid-tier application and database deployments in the HPCC market. The RM4205 also features Intel NetBurst(R) microarchitecture with Intel(R) Extended Memory 64 Technology, Hyper-Threading Technology, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep(TM) Technology, and up to 8MB L3 cache, delivering outstanding levels of throughput, performance and headroom for larger processor and memory-intense workloads.
"Launching the new 4U RM4205 allows Verari Systems to deliver the ever-increasing levels of performance that our customers demand," said David Driggers, CEO of Verari Systems. "One of the features that will definitely be attractive to our customers is the 8MB of L3 cache memory that will enable them to complete their massive compute projects faster than ever."
As stated, the RM4205 server is another addition of an Intel ESAA certified solution to the Verari Systems' product line. Intel ESAA is a collaboration between Intel, independent software vendors and independent hardware vendors that delivers pre-certified, Intel(R)-based server solutions to OEM alliance members. It is designed to decrease both the technical and financial burdens of platform certification for OEMs.
"We are pleased to see the addition of Verari Systems RM4205 Intel(R)-based rackmount server to Intel ESAA's broad portfolio of certified server solutions," said Kirk Skaugen, General Manager, Server Platforms Group, Intel Corporation. "Certified server solutions, made possible through this collaborative alliance, can help end users to simplify deployment, optimize time and resources, and minimize risk."
The Verari System RM4205 is currently available and can be configured to provide a wide range of configuration choices and accessory options that can be used to economically meet specific requirements of an HPCC enterprise customer.
