CyberCity 3D, Inc.â“¢, one of the largest 3D building partner contributors to Google Earthâ“¢, is now featuring its models on the new Google Mapsâ“¢ for mobile with 3D buildings. Currently published cities contributed by CyberCity 3D include Paris, France and Pasadena, CA — with more coming.

Google Mapsâ“¢ for mobile with 3D buildings uses vector graphics to dynamically draw the map on the device while it’s in use, enabling viewers to interact with it in fun, new ways: tilting, rotating, and smooth zooming, in addition to tapping the compass mode.

“Vector graphics maps are state-of-the-art, and we clearly see this sought-after application as a major opportunity for our Company,” stated Kevin DeVito, CEO of CyberCity 3D, Incâ“¢.

Google̢Ң sources have stated that vector files require more than 100 times less data to view maps across all zoom levels than earlier map versions, empowering Google Maps̢Ң for mobile with 3D buildings to cache more substantial map areas on mobile devices.

CyberCity 3Dâ“¢’s proprietary software is uniquely suited to model 3D cities for mobile map platforms, especially those using vector graphics. The Company creates its 3D city models from stereo images derived from aerial or satellite sources. The resulting buildings are architecturally accurate up to six inches.

“We produce our 3D buildings from classic Photogrammetry incorporated with semi-automated processes. This combination enables CyberCity 3D’s models to display sub-structures and roof detail, something that traditional “square block” buildings do not offer. That makes our models more distinctive and architecturally precise,” explains DeVito.
