Imperva Extends Database Security Solution; SecureSphere DBA Monitor Extends Auditing Visibility for Local Database Access and Maintenance Operations
Posted on: Tuesday, 16 August 2005, 09:00 CDT
Imperva, Inc., the developer of the world's first Dynamic Profiling Firewall(TM), today announced SecureSphere DBA Monitor, a transparent extension of SecureSphere's database monitoring and protection solution that provides visibility into local database access by database and system administrators. With the new extension, SecureSphere users can transparently monitor local database access and maintenance operations as a part of an overall database monitoring and protection solution.
The SecureSphere(TM) Dynamic Profiling Firewall(TM) is the first product to provide complete database security including automated policy definition, enforcement, and audit. Deployed on the network in the path of critical database servers, SecureSphere Gateways delivers gigabit performance, sub-millisecond latency, and options for high availability that meet the requirements of the most demanding data center. The SecureSphere DBA Monitor extends this visibility to the level of the physical machine so that security administrators can monitor and audit operations performed locally by database and system administrators.
The SecureSphere DBA Monitor provides the following benefits for automated database security:
-- Transparent, non-intrusive monitoring of local database access and maintenance operations.
-- Separation of duties -- provides audit visibility without requiring database administration privileges
-- Multi-database support -- SecureSphere supports Oracle, MS-SQL, Sybase, and IBM DB2
-- Enterprise Scalability -- all components of the SecureSphere solution are managed a single sophisticated, three-tier management platform
Pricing and Availability
The SecureSphere DBA Monitor will be available starting September 15th of 2005. The SecureSphere DBA Monitor license is included in the database protection license for the SecureSphere Dynamic Profiling Firewall.
About Imperva
The SecureSphere(TM) Dynamic Profiling Firewall(TM) is the first gigabit solution to provide total attack protection for all data center assets, including proprietary information, custom business applications, and critical servers. Traditionally, data center attack protection has required the integration of multiple disparate solutions, including a network firewall, intrusion prevention system (IPS), Web firewall, database firewall, and Web services firewall. SecureSphere provides unified attack protection that meets the most stringent requirements for performance, accuracy, and scalability, while also being practical to deploy and operate.
Led by chief executive Shlomo Kramer, an Internet security pioneer and co-founder of Check Point, Imperva has production deployments in leading financial, healthcare, and e-commerce organizations around the globe.
