LANDesk Software Announces New Educational Pricing Program

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- LANDesk Software, a leading provider of integrated systems and security management solutions, today announced a new pricing model that allows educational institutions to license the company's software on an annual subscription basis. The new LANDesk(R) Academic Licensing program, which offers both a per-machine and a per-student licensing option, enables education customers to pay a lower cost up front and better match expenses to budget cycles. The new program includes ongoing support, maintenance and upgrade protection for all customers.

The Academic Licensing Program comes in response to requests from educational IT customers for help balancing the need for improved management tools with the ongoing organizational requirements that they do more with less.

"Educational organizations can sometimes have lower budgets than organizations in other industries, and many software vendors offer great educational discounts," said Jon McSweeney director of information technology at Owatonna School District (MN). "But LANDesk has gone one step further and now offers us the ability to essentially take great educational pricing and spread it out over several years. The new educational pricing model is available immediately to K-12 and higher education institutions from any LANDesk Expert Solution Provider (ESP). The per student option bases annual payment on full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment, and can be counted once per year. The educational institution can then use as many licenses as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
