Data Translation Announces New Distribution Feature in DT Measure Foundry
Posted on: Monday, 20 October 2003, 06:00 CDT
MARLBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 2003--Data Translation,(R) Inc. today announced a new Distribution Wizard feature in its latest version of DT Measure Foundry, the company's test and measurement application builder. The Distribution Wizard allows users to easily create and deploy a runtime executable. This is especially important on the factory floor where a customer might have multiple stations running the same program.
Other new features of DT Measure Foundry 4.05 are:
-- Functions such as freeze, print, save, and visualize live data
measurements have been included in a new control toolbar to
the Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Chart Recorder and XY
Plot display panels. These new functions provide real-time
analysis capabilities without any programming.
-- RS-232 support which allows customers to support equipment
with an RS-232 interface.
-- Virtual Timestamp channel to time stamp two or more data
sources at the start of data collection. The panels which
include this new feature are: Analog Input, Counter, Digital
Input, Frequency Input, Singlevalue Input, Thermocouple
Linearization, OPC Input and VF Variables.
Easily Create Complex Applications
DT Measure Foundry's innovative drag and drop design combines ease-of-use with top performance. Users can create complex test and measurement applications that access and control data acquisition functions without being expert software developers. They simply arrange the desired instrument functions on the desktop using panels that receive data directly from the measurement source -- without any need to code or wire components. There is also no need to use Microsoft(R) Visual Basic(R), Microsoft Visual C++(R) or other programming languages to create a graphical user interface. A user can easily create a GUI in DT Measure Foundry 4.05 to display and analyze data - for example, an oscilloscope with a spectrum analyzer panel for real-time FFT to analyze the data and a stop/start button to control the acquisition of data. Any type of display and analysis can be set up very simply and quickly.
Access to Powerful Mathematical Functions and Analysis
DT Measure Foundry 4.05 gives users complete access to The MathWorks MATLAB(R) Script functionality for numerical computation, scientific graphics and signal processing. Users can also access Microsoft Excel(R) and control it from within DT Measure Foundry using the Excel Live Link to log, graph and save data in real-time.
Availability, Pricing and System Requirements
DT Measure Foundry 4.05 is available for immediate order with delivery within 30 days and is priced at $995. DT Measure Foundry runs on Windows(R) 2000 and XP. System requirements include: a PC compatible with a Pentium(R) II/333 or higher recommended; CD ROM drive; at least 128MB of RAM required, 256MB recommended and at least 80MB of free hard disk space; Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP1) or XP; appropriate DT WDM hardware device driver(s); and USB 2.0 (recommended) or Ethernet.
