Fujitsu Sues Taiwan Chip Maker Over Patent Infringements

Tokyo, Aug. 22 (Jiji Press)--Japanese computer maker Fujitsu Ltd. said Monday it has sued Taiwan's Nanya Technology Corp. for alleged infringement of Fujitsu patents on technology for dynamic random access memory chips.
Fujitsu is demanding that some Nanya products be barred from Japan and that the Taiwanese company pays damages.
The complaint, filed with Tokyo District Court, alleges that Nanya is illegally using Fujitsu technology for the production of input circuits for DRAMs.
Fujitsu said it took the legal action because Nanya refuses to comply with its requests to sign a patent licensing deal.
The Taiwanese company has also been sued for similar reasons by Renesas Technology Corp., another Japanese semiconductor maker.END
