INTEL DEVELOPERS FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sanmina-SCI Corporation today announced it will demonstrate the previously disclosed Entry Network-Attached Storage (NAS) Appliance at the Intel Developer's Forum in San Francisco, California, August 23 - 25, booth 110, in the Storage Community Showcase. The NAS product, or the Newisys(R) NA-1400 Network-Attached Storage Appliance, which incorporates the Intel(R) 80219 processor based on Intel XScale(R) technology and the Intel(R) 31244 4-port SATA controller, is an intuitive, plug-and-play storage solution that is easy to install, use and manage. The NA-1400 connects to networked personal computers and other electronic home media devices, providing up to two terabytes of external storage in a compact, toaster-sized package.

"We are excited about the NA-1400 storage product, which is part of Sanmina-SCI's ODM solutions offering, designed and brought to market with Intel," said Don Johnson, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Computing and Storage Systems Division of Sanmina-SCI. "The NA-1400 is targeted at solving data management problems both in the SMB and the emerging digital home markets."

"The Newisys entry-level NA-1400 NAS Appliance optimizes the price and performance advantages of the Intel XScale(R) microarchitecture, which helps make NAS solutions affordable," said Mike Wall, General Manager for Intel's Storage Components Division. "The NAS model has also become easy to install, use and manage when developed with standards-based Intel components that provide intuitive, plug-and-play storage solutions."

NA-1400 users experience a flexible, modular desktop design that offers high-speed Gigabit Ethernet attachment to state-of-the-art LAN technology, and data availability using industry-standard RAID 0, 1 and 5 technology to protect against loss of data. The NA-1400 serves as a safe haven for video, photos, movies, music and important data for home and small business environments.
