Cardtronics Expands Use of ATM Channel Management Solution Provided By Jack Henry Subsidiary

Posted on: Tuesday, 23 August 2005, 09:00 CDT

MONETT, Mo., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. , a leading provider of integrated computer systems and ATM/debit card/ACH transaction processing, today announced that Texas-based Cardtronics, LP will implement additional modules of the ATM channel management solution developed by its e-ClassicSystems subsidiary. e-ClassicSystems' ATM Manager Pro(R) supports every aspect of ATM channel management by consolidating ATM-related information into a centralized database, and providing the analytical and reporting tools required to manage all daily operations and improve channel strategies.

Cardtronics, the world's largest owner/operator of ATMs, has used ATM Manager Pro to manage its network that has grown to more than 25,000 ATMs in an automated, centralized environment since 2000. Before contracting for additional ATM Manager Pro modules, Cardtronics thoroughly investigated alternative ATM channel management and cash management solutions, and concluded that the best and most complete solution for its tactical and strategic requirements continues to be ATM Manager Pro.

The additional modules that Cardtronics will implement are the Advanced Cash Management, Interchange Fee Calculations, and Branding Program Analysis modules.

In addition to the robust functionality provided by ATM Manager Pro, Cardtronics will deploy an executive dashboard developed by Tangent Analytics, another recently acquired subsidiary of Jack Henry & Associates. Tangent Analytics develops sophisticated data consolidation, reporting, and analysis systems; and Web-based dashboards that provide desktop access to user-defined decision-support information, performance metrics and analysis tools. Cardtronics will initially implement an analytic dashboard to monitor and track its ATM transaction activity.

According to Mike Clinard, COO of Cardtronics, "We are excited about the ability to expand our use of ATM Manager Pro, and about the resulting operational and cost benefits we expect to realize. Our daily operations inherently create a very demanding environment with high transaction volumes and a large number of concurrent users. We are convinced that ATM Manager Pro will efficiently support our growing number of branding programs, financial institution alliances and surcharge-free programs. The new capabilities to independently calculate interchange fees and revenue owed to Cardtronics from all authorized networks, to optimize cash utilization rates and replenishment schedules, and to reduce the cost of funds while ensuring each terminal has enough cash to support customer usage are additional benefits that will enhance our business. The dashboard provided by e-Classic's sister company also will enable seamless and extremely convenient performance tracking."

Kevin Williams, CFO of Jack Henry & Associates, said, "It is rewarding that the largest deployer of ATMs in the world, who has real-world experience with the benefits generated by ATM Manager Pro, took an objective look at the systems available today and concluded that our solution is still the best solution for their ATM channel management by far. We believe the unprecedented automation, centralized information, and extensive analytical and reporting tools provided by ATM Manager Pro will continue to generate opportunities for Cardtronics to reduce operating costs, and improve operational efficiencies and controls across its multiple business units and functions."

According to Jack Prim, CEO of Jack Henry & Associates, "Our focused diversification acquisition strategy is adding best-of-breed solutions to our product and service mix that enable us to earn and retain non-traditional clients -- like Cardtronics -- since we now have technology offerings that extend beyond banks and credit unions. The ATM channel management solution provided by e-ClassicSystems and the business intelligence platform provided by Tangent Analytics demonstrate our unique ability to leverage the core competencies of select acquired companies to deliver competitively distinct, fully integrated business solutions. We expect the ability to selectively bundle the products and services offered by these companies will enable use to attract significant new clients in our traditional and non-traditional markets, and generate ongoing cross sales."
