GDC in Black

GDC Communications is in the black in its latest half-year, reporting a $20,000 $20,000 net profit, against a $901,000 loss in the same 2004 June period. The telco equipment firm's sales dropped 37.7% to $16m, as its contracts for network maintenance to Telecom expired
. Managing director Geoff Lawrie said the last 18 months had been a challenging for GDC, as it adjusted to the loss of these contracts and changed the firm's focus. GDC would pursue acquisition opportunities to improve sales, while tightly controlling costs.Source: Press, The; Christchurch, New Zealand
