Aug. 25--AMHERST -- Ektron, a locally based Web content management software company, announced that its Ektron CMS400.NET Web content management solution has been named a "Trend Setting Product of 2005" by KMWorld.
KMWorld, a leading publisher of information about content, document and knowledge management, gathered a panel of editors, knowledge management practitioners, analysts and customers to compile the 2005 list.
Deployed widely worldwide, Ektron CMS400.NET is an easy-to-use, affordable Web content management software solution that delivers out-of-the-box features and an extensible platform for quickly developing Microsoft .NET applications, the company said. The solution addresses a growing need among mid-sized organizations to more easily create, publish, translate, organize, manage and reuse information on Web sites, intranets and extranets.
The latest release of Ektron CMS400.NET delivers fully integrated document management functionality, enabling organizations to create, manage, publish, and share Microsoft Office documents and other information assets from a single system.
"We evaluated more than 200 vendors, whose combined offerings top the 1,200 mark," said Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor in chief, in a statement. "As we have in years past, we considered usability, flexibility, adoption rate and total cost of ownership. We also recognized some vendors for their vision toward the future or for a collection of offerings, rather than a specific product or compelling new version of an existing one."
The complete list is featured in the September issue of KMWorld magazine.
"Ektron has consistently listened to real-world needs of our customers -- including Web developers, Webmasters and everyday users of content management systems," said Bill Rogers, Ektron founder and CEO, in a statement. "We respond by creating technology that truly is 'trend-setting'; but perhaps more importantly, Ektron offers technology that realistically solves today's problems quickly and easily."
Founded in 1998, Ektron partners with leading Web firms, interactive agencies, and system integrators, and also sells directly to end customers. Ektron has nearly 15,000 customer integrations worldwide, including Unilever, Intel and Pfizer.
