CipherTrust Introduces TrustedSource Portal for Global E-Mail Sender Reputation Information
Posted on: Monday, 29 August 2005, 09:00 CDT
World's Only Single View of Senders Using Cisco, Yahoo and Microsoft E-mail Authentication Standards
CipherTrust, Inc., the global market leader in messaging security, today announced the launch of its TrustedSource Portal(TM), a free online resource that provides precise information about e-mail sender reputation by domain and IP address. Located at www.trustedsource.org, the TrustedSource Portal is the only Web site in the world that provides a single view of senders using one or more of the four primary e-mail authentication standards designed to minimize phishing, fraud and spam: DomainKeys and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) advocated by Cisco(R) and Yahoo(R), and SenderID and Sender Policy Framework (SPF) advocated by Microsoft(R).
"CipherTrust's approach to effectively stop spam, fraud and phishing attacks combines local analysis at the gateway with the global intelligence provided by our TrustedSource reputation system," said Jay Chaudhry, CEO, Chairman & Founder of CipherTrust. "The launch of the TrustedSource Portal provides our customers with a unique view of global e-mail sender reputations to better understand their messaging environments."
The TrustedSource Portal allows administrators to troubleshoot, research and analyze various senders that may be sending mail into their environments. Administrators can view current and historical reputation and sending patterns of the senders, as well as analytical information such as country of origin, network ownership, and hosts for known senders for each domain. Additionally, the TrustedSource Portal provides a snapshot of global e-mail trends, including a map illustrating country of origin for e-mail attacks; graphs displaying overall e-mail and spam volume trends; CipherTrust's ZombieMeter(TM); a directory of information about the e-mail authentication status of each sender; and a snapshot view of e-mail authentication deployments across the Internet.
TrustedSource - Global Intelligence, Local Protection
The TrustedSource Portal data is powered by CipherTrust's TrustedSource(TM) global threat correlation engine. In addition to general ISP spam data, which is largely consumer centric, TrustedSource receives and analyzes billions of messages per month from CipherTrust's network of more than 4000 IronMail Gateway appliances deployed globally. Like a virtual credit agency, TrustedSource assigns a reputation score and further classifies senders as good, bad or suspicious based on an in-depth analysis by processing more than a dozen behavior attributes to profile each sender. TrustedSource is the first and only reputation system to combine traffic data, whitelists, blacklists and network characteristics with the unparalleled strength of CipherTrust's global customer base. As opposed to other offerings that do not integrate reputation into the spam scoring, TrustedSource data provides the most accurate and effective spam blocking.
