First Local Private Radio to Go on Air in Northern Azerbaijan

[Presenter] The first private radio station will start broadcasting in Azerbaijan. This will happen in Saki [northern Azerbaijan].
[Correspondent over video of equipment, journalists] The first private radio station in Azerbaijan, Radio Saki, will go on the air on 1 September. Final preparations are being made. All technical issues have been resolved and the station has been equipped with the most up-to-date equipment.
For the time being, Radio Saki will be on the air six days a week for 30 minutes from 1630 to 1700 [1130-1200 gmt]. It will broadcast news and programmes highlighting the public and political situation in the district, as well as musical and cultural programmes. From now on, Saki residents will be able to hear all the district news directly from this local radio station. Saki’s all topical issues will be discussed on Radio Saki. The signature tunes of all the programmes are ready.

[Correspondent] The programmes to be broadcast during the week will mainly focus on Saki’s economic problems, the social situation, the [6 November] parliamentary election and debates between the people running for parliament from Saki, as well as funny stories told by Saki residents.

[Correspondent] The editorial staff of Radio Saki has been fully formed. Journalists of the Radio Saki station, who understand the importance of the event that will take place in Saki’s history on 1 September and that it is important to base the local private radio station on a professional foundation, are currently having major training courses. The ANS ChM management is teaching correspondents of the radio technical and professional skills. The ANS concept is also being taught. New voice will be heard on the country’s air in just three days – This is Radio Saki.
