In only its first year of consideration, Alienware won a prestigious Readers' Choice Award in PC Magazine's 18th annual Reader Satisfaction Survey and earned an overall score of 8.8 (on a scale of 1 to 10), which represented the highest score of any Windows(R)-based desktop manufacturer.
The Reader Satisfaction Survey polled nearly 14,000 computer users and appears in the September 20, 2005 issue of PC Magazine and online at http://www.pcmag.com/sr. Commenting on Alienware's performance in the survey, PC Magazine stated, "You couldn't ask for a better debut. With its first appearance in our annual Reader Satisfaction Survey, Alienware receives a higher overall score than any other Windows desktop manufacturer, including much larger players such as Dell, Gateway, HP, Lenovo/IBM, and Sony."
In the reliability category of the survey, Alienware also received the highest score among Windows desktop manufacturers, finishing with an 8.7. PC Magazine said, "Alienware's fast, rock-solid desktops prove that even a boutique vendor can take the prize."
"Alienware's high approval ratings by PC Magazine's readers mirror the results of recent studies by IDC, PC World, and others," said Brian Joyce, director of marketing for Alienware. "They all reinforce the fact that Alienware is a step above other manufacturers in performance, reliability, service, and other factors vital to consumers."
