SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- FileMaker, Inc., a worldwide leader in database software for workgroups, has named Ryan Rosenberg vice president of marketing and services. He leads the teams responsible for product strategy, marketing programs and customer support.
Rosenberg's career spans 20 years of successfully driving product-line growth strategies at software leaders including Symantec, eGain and Hewlett-Packard. Most recently, he was vice president of marketing for KnowNow, a provider of lightweight Internet middleware, and implemented aggressive marketing programs which tripled the size of the customer base in less than a year.
As vice president of marketing for eGain, a leading provider of customer service software, 1998-2002, Rosenberg led corporate, product and international marketing, and drove branding and product-line positioning while the company went through a successful IPO and grew from start-up to 800 global customers.
At Symantec, as director of product marketing, 1993-98, he defined and executed strategy for several product lines, including ACT! and WinFax. Under Rosenberg's leadership, ACT! and WinFax grew to lead their categories with market shares of more than 70 percent, and a combined customer base of more than 7 million.
He earlier managed channel sales and developer relations for HP's PC Software Division, and held management positions at IBM.
"Ryan has proven strengths in defining and delivering growth strategies for successful software product lines," said Dominique Goupil, president of FileMaker. "His insight and leadership will be very valuable as FileMaker charts a course to grow with an increasingly diverse customer base."
Rosenberg holds an MBA in marketing from UCLA and a BS degree in computer science from Michigan State University.
