FileNet ECM Solutions Tightly Integrate with New Microsoft Office System

COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FileNet Corporation , the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, today announced support for the Microsoft Office System. FileNet's solutions are designed to work with the Microsoft Office System to provide customers with integrated access to content and a process framework to enable multiple contributors to collaborate and contribute information for enhanced knowledge exchange to allow better, faster decision making. FileNet's integration encompasses many of the Office System productivity applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and enables users to access FileNet ECM through the Office applications.

FileNet plans to support Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, the enabling technology that allows enterprises to develop an intelligent portal that connects users, teams and knowledge so people can leverage relevant information across business processes to help make better business decisions faster. FileNet technology currently supports SharePoint Portal Server 2001 integration with web parts and a protocol handler for repository integration.
