TSA Names Federal Security Director for Bradley International Airport

Posted on: Thursday, 1 September 2005, 12:00 CDT

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named David Ishihara as the Federal Security Director (FSD) for Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn. Ishihara comes to Bradley from Boston's Logan International Airport where he has served as Deputy FSD since July 2003.

"Dave's breadth of knowledge and experience in aviation security, his leadership style and unwavering commitment to the safety of the traveling public will be an invaluable asset in his new position at Bradley International," said George Naccara, TSA's Northeast Area Director and Federal Security Director at Logan International Airport. "TSA's screeners and staff at Bradley will be fortunate to have a manager so dedicated to ensuring a positive, productive and security-focused work environment."

Prior to serving as Logan's Deputy Federal Security Director, Ishihara was the airport's Assistant Federal Security Director for Screening during TSA's rollout of Federal screening operations in 2002. He came to TSA after three years with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) where he served as the Federal Security Manager at Logan Airport and post-9/11 as the Civil Aviation Security Field Office Manager responsible for overseeing security at all New England airports. Before joining the FAA, Ishihara was an airport operator for six years and was the Assistant Airport Manager of the Portland (Maine) International Jetport until 1998.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida Institute of Technology and holds commercial and flight instructor pilot certificates.

Ishihara replaces Dana Cosgrove, who retired from federal service in July 2005 after three years as Federal Security Director at Bradley International Airport.

The Federal Security Director at Bradley is also responsible for overseeing aviation security and passenger and baggage screening operations at Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport and Groton-New London Airport.
