Busy Road Route Closed Three Days
BUSES travelling along West Derby Road into Liverpool city centre will be temporarily diverted to allow for utility diversion works on the proposed route of Merseytram.
A road closure will come into force for three days – from today to Monday, September 5 – to allow contractors working for Merseytravel to move a gas main.
The closure will operate from 9.30am on Friday until 6.30am on Monday between Sheil Road and Farnworth Street, but only in the direction travelling towards Liverpool city centre.
Buses affected by the closure – services 12, 13, 14N, 15, 18A, 112, 113 and 218 – will turn from Rocky Lane into Sheil Road, then via Boaler Street, Farnworth Street and back onto West Derby Road and along the normal route to the city centre Service 225 will turn off Belmont Road onto Whitefield Road, Boundary Lane, Severs Street then along the normal route There will be temporary stops on Boaler Street/Mansell Road and Farnworth Street.
Return journeys will not be affected.
