GOLDEN, Colo., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Generation21 Learning Systems, a leading developer of enterprise learning software, today announced an agreement with Sun Microsystems, Inc. to participate in Sun Services' learning content management system (LCMS) referral program. Under the terms of the agreement, Sun will work with Generation21 to market and promote Generation21's LCMS as a complementary offering to the Sun(TM) Enterprise Learning Platform (Sun ELP), Sun's Java(TM) technologies-based learning management system.
The teaming of Generation21's LCMS with Sun ELP will provide a powerful, total training solution to Sun ELP customers. Generation21's LCMS allows for publication of SCORM-based, online content that can be delivered through Sun ELP. Together with Generation21's award-winning LCMS, Sun ELP will help organizations to develop, capture, deliver, manage and maintain corporate information and training. The total training solution can be hosted or installed at a client site and is available now.
"Generation21's LCMS and Universal Knowledge Object technology provide a very robust and easy-to-use solution that can help customers improve their organizational performance," said Arnfinn Austefjord, Senior Director of Sun Educational Services. "This agreement is a prime example of how Sun Services extends the reach and value of its solutions by leveraging the expertise of our best-in-class partners."
Generation21 pioneered the use of Universal Knowledge Objects -- "nuggets" of right-sized information -- and continues to enhance enterprise learning with innovations including performance support with context-based retrieval of knowledge outside of the classroom and on-the-job. Generation21 allows organizations to capture and share knowledge to generate measurable results in improved efficiency and productivity by allowing a company's knowledge base to be easily accessed by employees in diverse locations, thus allowing learning to be constant.
Sun ELP has been named an industry visionary by leading industry analysts. Sun ELP provides a common learning environment, enabling organizations to manage learning globally. In addition, Sun ELP functions as an administrative tool for learning delivery and tracking. More than a learning management system, Sun ELP also offers critical functionality that includes skills management, assessment and collaboration. For added flexibility, Sun ELP can be deployed as a hosted (ASP) or licensed (inside-the-firewall) solution. Sun ELP now supports single-byte and double-byte characters for global availability.
