Solarcom Achieves IP Communications Specialization From Cisco Systems

Posted on: Tuesday, 6 September 2005, 06:00 CDT

Solarcom LLC, a provider of total technology solutions, announced today it has achieved the IP Communications Specialization from Cisco Systems(R). This specialization recognizes Solarcom(R) for having acquired the advanced training, knowledge, personnel and experience to deliver multisite Cisco(R) IP Communications solutions to the mid and enterprise markets.

"As the IP market continues to evolve, today's IP communications customers are looking for comprehensive solutions that address their business needs rather than a specific technology," said Surinder Brar, senior director of Worldwide Channels Marketing for Cisco Systems. "Our IP Communications Specialization program recognizes companies like Solarcom that have ability to deliver complete enterprise-class IP Communication solutions over multiple sites and geographies."

"Our commitment to providing world-class, best-fit solutions to our customers has placed Solarcom at the forefront of evolving business technologies," said Eric Prockow, Chairman and CEO of Solarcom Holdings, Inc. "This certification from Cisco confirms what our customers have known for years -- that Solarcom delivers cost-effective technology solutions that provide genuine value and a measurable return on their technology investment."

In order to qualify for the Cisco IP Communications Specialization Solarcom had to meet or exceed the following requirements, as outlined by Cisco:

Resource Requirements

The Cisco IP Communications Specialization required Solarcom to fulfill the following job roles with qualified individuals who have met specific testing requirements: an account manager, responsible for IP Communications sales methodology; a project coordinator, responsible for project coordination and execution; a systems engineer, responsible for IP Communications solution planning and design; two field engineers, one responsible for the implementation and operation of the IP Communications solution, and one responsible for the contact center solutions such as Cisco Unity(TM) Unified Messaging and Cisco IP Contact Center (IPCC) Express Edition; and an operations specialist, responsible for troubleshooting network problems related to IP communications solutions.

Customer Satisfaction Requirement

In addition to the personnel requirements, Solarcom was also required to provide a minimum of six IP telephony reference accounts. From these six reference accounts Solarcom had to obtain a 4.5 out of 5 customer satisfaction rating.

Lab Requirement

The IP Communications Specialization also required Solarcom to build an IP communications operational lab, to be used for demonstration, support, and training.
