NEC Ties Up With Oracle to Develop Grid Computing Software

Sep. 3--TOKYO -- NEC Corp. has tied up with Oracle Corp. of the United States to develop grid computing software, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported Saturday.
The report said NEC's 20-member special R&D team is already working at Oracle's R&D center in an effort to develop grid computing software by the end of this year.
By sharing technical information from the development stage, the two companies are trying to ensure that their hardware and software products will work smoothly, the report said.
