Ericsson Signs Managed Services Contract With Sonaecom in Portugal

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) and Portuguese telecom group Sonaecom have signed a five-year managed services contract that includes field operations for the multi-vendor infrastructure networks of Optimus and Novis, the mobile and fixed brands of Sonaecom.
Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide day-to-day field operation for the Optimus 2G/3G network and Novis' fixed network in Portugal. This will enable Sonaecom to focus on its growth strategy and efficiently evolve its networks for future technologies.
Luis Reis, Chief Operating Officer of Sonaecom, says: "Ericsson's local services organization will support us and, in combination with its global experience in managed services, ensure up-to-date processes that maintain quality of services to our customers."
