Konica Minolta to Dissolve Canadian Unit By End of March

Sep. 7--TOKYO -- Konica Minolta Holdings Inc. said Wednesday it will dissolve a Canadian unit by the end of next March in a bid to boost efficiency amid changes in market demands.
Konica Minolta Photo Imaging Canada Inc. has been conducting sales and services of Konica Minolta's products, including cameras, photosensitive materials, medical imaging materials and measurement-related products, in the Canadian market.
But the market for photosensitive material there has been dwindling while those for digital cameras are intensifying.
The company decided to let an agency take over the unit's operations, it said, adding that the move will have little impact on its group earnings for the current fiscal year.
