Spirit Airlines Reports August 2005 Traffic; Load Factor Reaches 81.5%

Spirit Airlines reports August traffic. Last month, Spirit carried 409,609 passengers, 7.9% less than the same period last year. Spirit achieved an 81.5% load factor, which was 2.9 points lower than August 2004. Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) reached 384,579,000, 15.5% less than last August, and Available Seat Miles (ASMs) reached 472,050,000, 12.5% less than August last year.

"Customer demand for our service continues to be strong as evidenced by our load factor this past month," said Ben Baldanza, President and Chief Operating Officer of Spirit Airlines. "Bookings for the fall and winter continue to be strong as there has been a terrific response to Spirit's Caribbean expansion. We have new planes, new markets, and a great new attitude as the leading low cost carrier to the Caribbean."
