IDX Teams with British Telecom in Bid for UK National Health Service – London Region

BURLINGTON, Vt., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — IDX Systems Corporation , today confirmed it has teamed with British Telecom in a bid to deliver clinical information technology systems and services to the United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) for the London region. The NHS announced today that British Telecom has been selected as the Local Service Provider for London. In the coming weeks, IDX expects to finalize a definitive subcontract agreement to provide its clinical information system technology to British Telecom.

Healthcare facilities in the London region are represented by one of five contracts being awarded as part of a NHS National Programme for Information Technology, including hardware, software, network and services. Together with a prime contractor, IDX is also bidding on two additional regions: the first is known as the South East and South West region and the second as the West Midlands and North West region.
