Media Discussion(TM) Enables Broadcasters and Film Studios to Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness During the Comment and Review Process
Today during the International Broadcasters Convention, IBC2005, FYEOnly -- a fully owned subsidiary of Newtonstrand Limited, announced the availability of Media Discussion(TM) Pro and Server, and their integrated support for Microsoft Connected Services Framework. Media Discussion(TM) Pro and Server innovative solutions helps broadcasters and film studios to increase efficiency and effectiveness during the comment and review stage of the digital production process.
Media Discussion(TM) Pro is a client side application that enables management of edited content and a many-to-many per-frame discussion on any frame of the edited content. The commented content is encrypted using FYEOnly's Post Protector technology to enable secure distribution. The different discussions, along with the management of the work status of every project and its next actions, is processed and distributed using the Media Discussion(TM) Server to support dynamic, nonlinear production processes across organizational boundaries.
With eroding market share, advertising revenues on the decline, and increasing production costs, broadcasters and film studios are facing challenges to produce content faster and more cost-effectively; make rapid, strategic programming decisions; and distribute compelling content and services across multiple channels to capture viewer loyalty and increase ratings. Media Discussion(TM) Pro and Server together with the Microsoft Connected Services Framework allows broadcasters and film studios to embrace a digital environment and transform their businesses by using technology to increase their operational efficiency, reduce costs, and take advantage of new business opportunities as they emerge.
The Microsoft Connected Services Framework is a flexible and customizable product that uses a service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach to build an interoperable, manageable and scalable infrastructure of shared services such as digital asset management and content distribution processes. These shared services connect existing technology to support a dynamic production process across organizational boundaries. Built on proven Microsoft platform technologies and using industry standards such as Extensible Markup Language (XML), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Web Services Description Language (WSDL), the Microsoft Connected Services Framework is enabling FYEOnly and its Media Discussion(TM) Solutions to enhance its existing SOA infrastructure and build a connected system that allows interoperability to other digital marketing assets and to move seamlessly across once-disparate platforms and applications.
"By implementing the Microsoft Connected Services Framework, FYEOnly has been able to make Media Discussion(TM) solutions family a key interoperable part in the improved workflow management process for the broadcaster and film industry. This Integration brings more value to our customers as it extend our existing Media Discussion(TM) solution with complementary solutions that integrates Microsoft Connected Services Framework as well, and provides an end to end interoperable solution for the whole nonlinear production processes," said Meshulam Golovinski, CEO of FYEOnly.
"Microsoft Connected Services Framework is revolutionizing the way broadcast and film companies create, manage and deliver content by enabling dynamic collaboration with once disparate production and business systems," said Dave Alstadter, senior director of the Worldwide Media & Entertainment group at Microsoft Corp. "Key to the success of Connected Services Framework is broad adoption and support by industry-leading partners like FYEOnly, ensuring systems interoperability across organizational and geographic boundaries."
