Proofpoint to Design and Manufacture F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway Appliances Under New OEM Agreement

CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Proofpoint, Inc., the leader in large-enterprise messaging security solutions, today announced a new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement with F-Secure Corporation, a worldwide leader in anti-virus and intrusion prevention. Under the terms of the OEM agreement, F-Secure will market and sell a new line of F-Secure branded messaging security appliances based on the Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway X-Series appliance. The Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway X-Series appliance provides Proofpoint's industry-leading anti-spam, anti-virus, email policy enforcement and email firewall capabilities at a price point and form factor ideal for small- and medium-sized enterprises. The new OEM agreement extends the longstanding technology partnership between Proofpoint and F-Secure, whereby Proofpoint integrated F-Secure's best-of-breed anti-virus engine into the Proofpoint Protection Server(R) software and Proofpoint Messaging Security Gateway(TM) solutions.

In a separate announcement today, F-Secure introduced its first branded appliance, the F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway model X200. The F-Secure appliance will be generally available this month through F-Secure's worldwide network of distributors and resellers which serves more than 50 countries. F-Secure will initially concentrate on the European and US markets and has several thousand channel partners across Europe.
