MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoExpress, the leader in network access control solutions, today announced it has joined the Microsoft Network Access Protection program, supporting the company's initiative to create a standards-based enterprise network security infrastructure. Through its participation in this program, InfoExpress will integrate its flagship CyberGatekeeper network access control appliance with Microsoft Network Access Protection technologies to help corporate IT administrators centrally manage and enforce the granular security policies they need to improve the security of their network clients.
Network Access Protection is an extensible architecture based on industry-accepted standards that allow IT professionals to monitor and control network access based on validation of a computer's compliance to pre-established policies. Network access policies are defined and managed by network administrators and enacted by a central policy coordination server, such as the CyberGatekeeper appliance. Microsoft Network Access Protection is scheduled be delivered with the next version of the Windows Server operating system, code named Longhorn, due in 2007.
"InfoExpress is delighted to be working with Microsoft to integrate our industry-leading CyberGatekeeper policy-based network access control solution with Microsoft Network Access Protection technology," said Stacey Lum, CEO of InfoExpress. "Our cooperation with Microsoft is the latest example of InfoExpress' commitment to open, multi-vendor policy enforcement initiatives, enabling our customers to have the greatest flexibility in implementing their security solutions."
CyberGatekeeper lets administrators assess the health of third-party anti-virus software, personal firewalls, and other software through the location of the endpoint and customizable tests. CyberGatekeeper will utilize the Microsoft Network Access Protection platform to gather and monitor endpoint compliance, and isolate non-compliant endpoints. While endpoints are isolated, CyberGatekeeper's remediation capabilities can help bring them to a compliant state and revalidate them for full network access.
Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology is a comprehensive platform infrastructure that allows system administrators to monitor and control computer access to corporate networks as well as update non-compliant computers," said Steve Anderson, senior director, Windows Server division, Microsoft Corp. "Through broad relationships with industry leaders such as InfoExpress, Network Access Protection will deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions that ensure policy compliance, prevent the spread of viruses and protect corporate assets."
