Imtech Telecom Selects Lucent Technologies To Manage the Network Operations for its Customer Eurofiber

HILVERSUM, Netherlands, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lucent Technologies today announced that it has been selected by business partner Imtech Telecom, to manage and support the network operations for its customer EuroFiber, one of the largest fibre providers in the BeNeLux region. Lucent Worldwide Services will provide 24x7managed services, including network management and monitoring facilities for the company's network operations from its Hilversum operations centre.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lucent will manage Eurofiber's new Fast Ethernet services on their fibre network as a 'carriers' carrier' product. Currently this service is available in the Randstad, but in the near future it will be available in southern parts of the Netherlands as well as Belgium.

By outsourcing its maintenance, customer provisioning and network management, EuroFiber will be able to focus on its core business and more cost effectively introduce new services to its customers. Imtech Telecom has a strong knowledge of the communications market in the northwestern part of Europe and works closely with its customers to ensure that they are provided with the technology and services for them to do their business effectively.

Lucent manages more than 25 customer networks worldwide, ranging from IP start-ups to enterprises and service providers. Lucent has a network of Global Network Operations Centres (GNOC), including the one based in Hilversum, which will support EuroFiber's network management requirements. Lucent also has similar centers in Sydney and Denver.
